How does it feel to have a cold beer after a tough emotional racquetball game, or a romantic dinner with great food outside on a perfect summer night, or running through a sprinkler with your best friend, or dancing with your prom date at a late night hamburger joint?
My experiences in life are built upon tasting great ethnic food, smells from the seashore, joking with my knuckle head brother, and friends that will listen for hours.
Communicating how experiences feel is what inspires my work.
Growing up with the down to earth people on the Southside of Chicago has given me an appreciation for family, honesty, hard work, and kindness. I remember summer evening bbq’s with the neighbors, all of us kids trying to catch lightning bugs and the smell from burning our punks (dried cat tails for those not from the Southside) to keep away the mosquitos.
I think it is so cool capturing an authentic expression, and creating beautiful water drops on a beer glass so people can practically feel the cold.
That’s why I am passionate about doing whatever it takes to tell a great story that stirs feelings and memories.
I like action to flow freely, creating real and spontaneous moments within the framework of a concept. I work with all kinds of subjects, 6 year old kids having a squirt gun fight, cranky 70 year old racquet ball players, characters from the neighborhood, or Ford Agency models - directing so they can act comfortably and naturally resulting in genuine emotion.
Life, food, and fun! Mix them together and great images happen!
